Curves N Cupcakes Comedy Tour 2014! We're Back!

Confession of a Black Female Producer/Comedienne MAKING IT HAPPEN for herself and her BELOVED Sisters #1

Up early doing promos for my first born child,
The Curves N Cupcakes Comedy Tour live at the Punch Line San Francisco: press releases, flyer mailers, and fan email blasts. All of you that have been promising to come to "the next comedy show" that day has arrived! I need your beautiful asses in the seats. These clubs care about profit and one of the main reason shows like the The Curves N Cupcakes Comedy Tour are not necessarily mainstream driven is because they don't think people want to pay to see us. Let's keep it real.

So this is a comedy show, yes, but it is also my way of advocating for the marginalized voice of women of color and women with disabilities. I realize it's a Tuesday night: when you aren't a famous comic yet, you don't get the weekend spot unless it's the comedy underground. So help me and my comedy sisters make it to those coveted weekend slots by supporting us now in our infancy before HBO and Showtime comes a calling!

We need you. Please tell a friend about us. Word of mouth is powerful.
Tuesday, February 11th at 8 PM. Punch Line San Francisco 444 Battery Street! Tickets are on sale now:

The Curves N Cupcakes Comedy Tour advocates for more diversity at mainstream comedy clubs and wins!

When I started comedy, one of my goals was to create opportunities for marginalized voices in comedy to be heard. Of all the shows I've produced my line ups have always been diverse in ethnicity, voice, and age. Now it's the time for my comedy sisters who are normally "token comics" to be all on one line up. Together we are making history.
Mainstream clubs do not showcase women of color all together on the stage at the same time. It does not happen. You may have one brown or yellow one thrown in there or a really dark one to cover the gamut, but NEVER do you see a show like The Curves N Cupcakes Comedy Tour live at the Punch Line San Francisco at a mainstream club. But these times they are a changing! Help us make history by packing it out. We have to get butts in the seats in order to make this show and shows like this the norm rather than the exception. We need you.

Tuesday, September 10th at 8 PM the ladies of
are ready to rock your world! These amazingly talented comediennes represent women of color, disabled women, and women who
are members of the LGTBQ community all in one show! Our collective voices are powerful enough to change the world one punchline at a time! The Cupcakes represent the feminine divine in grand diva style: intelligent, beautiful, and funny! Let's bring it, ladies. Who runs the world?

The Cupcake line up for the evening:
and your hostess with the "mostess curves,"

Your attendance is key! We need you in that audience! Let's pack it out in the name of diversity! (Ladies, wear flowers in your hair to represent "Curvy Girl Flower Power" with your hostess for the evening, Comedienne Queenie TT!

Never give up on your dreams!

On Sunday, June 9th I had the honor and privilege of featuring for headliner, BigWorm Romero and the San Jose Improv. The feature spot is reserved for the seasoned comic who can get that energy going, preparing the stage for the headliner to close out the show.  It is a very important position and can really make or break the overall presentation of the comedy show.

Queenie TT & Big Worm Romero

I was so excited and honored that BigWorm trusted me with that very important spot, getting that stage piping hot for him right before he headlines.Such opportunities are rare when you are a new comedian yet such good training for me; quality stage time is priceless for a baby comic like myself. 3 years strong and many more to come in Jesus name!

Queenie TT with BigWorm's fans at Azucar in San Jose!
All the hard work over the past 3 years is starting to pay off. I feel so comfortable on stage and confident in my voice. I’m opening up to my audience more, telling them about how I became Queen with funny stories about my youth, my parents, and my grandparents. And the audiences I’ve performed this new material too are laughing at those jokes just as hard as they laugh at my signature jokes. This makes me feel so happy because there is more to my story then just being a full-figured Black woman. I am who I am and if you don’t like my brand of comedic entertainment, oh well. I’m not for everybody, but those who I am for, they love me and I love them.

It’s that positive give and take of love and energy on that stage between me and the audience that has kept me here longer and was the very catalyst to me changing my life and becoming healthier. I love and appreciate every audience I have the privilege of performing in front of and by the time I’m done with all of my TT shenanigans, they know it!

Queenie, her homegirl, Dee Valencia, and her mother, Sandra Malvo at the San Jose Improv.

Comments posted on my facebook page from BigWorm Romero’s fans last night that just makes me feel like a freaking rockstar! Thanks, ya’ll! I love you for real!

Sometimes it's hard to live well with lymphedema, but I'm not going to give up!

For those of you who want to know what I'm dealing with when I jokingly say, "I need a new left leg" my medical condition is rather serious and I'm currently seeking some supplemental health insurance to support the next phase of my healing which is so invasive my potential surgeons are at this time scared to touch me. So yet again, just like the weight loss surgery, I have to find a doctor that is skilled enough to take on my UNIQUE CASE and self advocate yet again to be referred out to a specialist.

This stuff done got real. See I cover up what I'm dealing with really well so well that even I forget that I'm fighting something that doesn't have a cure. I honestly forget that I'm dealing with a permanent disability and honestly I have a hard time saying it sometimes. I just don't want receive it in my spirit because I'm believing God for my healing. Yet every month that permanently disability check shows up minus my fees for Medicare reminding me that what I'm dealing with ain't not joke.

I swear I don't know what I'd do without Queenie, stand up comedy, and my support system of friends, TT fans, and "CERTAIN" family members. I'm so thankful to still be here to fight the good fight of faith that I refuse to give up; however, evend "Da Queen" gets a bit tired of it all.

Read about my condition here: http://www.lymphnet.org/lymphedemaFAQs/overview.htm I have STAGE II AND STAGE III LYMPHEDEMA. Pray for me ya'll. Today, I'm guilty of looking at my circumstances instead of plausible resolutions and the host of miracles God has already given to me. OOooops I fooled around and got a bit weary. Throw in an extra sentence or two for me when you're giving your praises to the Father. I sure would appreciate it. Love ya'll! (Hebrews 11:1)

I produced a body esteem video about lymphedema where I reveal what the disease looks like on my legs and how they have become deformed by what is called a lymphedema nodule.  These nodules must be surgically removed, eventually.  The goal is to get me as healthy as possible so I can survive the surgery.  I'm considered high risk because of the bold clots in my lungs I developed post bariatric surgery and had to be intubated.

I used to be ashamed of the way my legs looked, thinking that they were disgusting, but now they are beautiful to me because they tell a story.  And while they are definitely a nuisance sometimes with all the wrapping, compression garments, and diuretics to keep the fluid off my heart etc. a sister can still hit her splits...haaaay and a sister can still walk WITHOUT A CANE!  These are the only legs I have and therefore they are beautiful and acceptable.  Here's the video: http://youtu.be/H_QXC4p8Pmg

I'm ready to tell my story for real now.  Get ready, ya'll!  I'm not afraid anymore. I'm walking in full acceptance, gratitude, and appreciation.  I am counting it all, joy. Yes, a one woman show is currently being developed.  I'm trying to be the second coming of Oprah with a hint of Whoopi Goldberg!  LOL!
